Andrew Wood sported the classic CV for an 80s hair-band frontman; his teenage obsession with stardom came after catching a Cheap Trick gig; he grew up on Kiss, Marc Bolan, David Bowie, Elton John and Prince. And he was a bitt of a mess. When he was in his first real band, Malfunkshun, his father had to hospitalise him with hepatitis contracted from infected junkies&#x; needles.

My parents are huge Zappa fans. He was a staple of my early exposure to music. This was recorded during the Flo and Eddie period of the Mothers, and yes it has only 5 songs but on the original pressing, side 1 of the album contains the 24 minute epic Billy The Mountain, a micro operetta as only Frank Zappa could create it, comedic and musically infused/5(98).

Just Another Band From L.A. (Live At Pauley Pavilion, UCLA, Los Angeles / ) Not the best from Frank and The Mothers, just hasn't aged well. Read more. One person found this helpful back in the early 70's, it was great then and it was great listening to again on cd. One of the best albums Frank Zappa ever put out. Highly recommended /5(67).
